Subway signal

Major project studio - One semester
Client project for Le Grand Paris September - january 2013

Le Grand Paris is a company who will build new subway stations in the suburbs of Paris. They need a different identity, something users can reco- gnize the future stations by. My project is a graphic identity combining an arrow and the current icons of the Parisian metro. I searched a range of colors, shapes and icons that can be universal.
I derived a range of three objects from this basic shape to facilitate the flow of users in and around public transport: Pavement nails to guide pedestrians on the street to the metro station.
Road signs attaching to existing urban elements and indicating stations with a graphic identity of their own. Signs inside the station to indicate lines with more intuitive and universally recognized color codes and pictograms.
These three types of objects allow for uninterrupted signage throughout town as well as inside the station. These colorful touches create a visual path easily followed by users.
