Reverso

Major project studio - One semester Groupe project
September - january 2013

Reverso is a project of a small family boat. It is 4 meters long and built with the rotational molding technique.

It is designed according to three principles :

Reversible

It is conceived to be as effective at sea as in a river. Each environment requires a particular form of shell. Our research has resulted in a reversible shell that combines the benefits of the catamaran and the fishing boat. The concaved side of the boat is suitable for calm and shallow waters. It offers good stability. The convexed side has a «V» profile. It enables Reverso to sail in deep and wavy seas. The hull is made in one piece. The user can simply transform the catamaran into a fishing boat, vice versa, by flipping it. To complete the transformation, the user has to assemble a saling kit for the catamaran or a motor for the fishing boat.

Modular

We conducted a study of uses for the boat and developed several scenarios. We have created a neutral base, allowing the user to assemble a multitude of modules, corrresponding his needs. The boat can become a sailboat, a fishing boat, a game platform or a diving platform, Accessories offer additional functionalities: scale, shelters, seats, wheels to pull behind a bicycle, table, hammock. These additive elements are fixed to the hull thanks to a rail system board, veil and screw fasteners.

Participatory

The project seeks to collaborate with the users. By creating a forum, the project creates a dialogue between its users, thus creating a community. People can share their ideas and upgrades that they have done.

Logo

We also made a few research for a graphic identity and a logo. How explain the concept only with a pictogramme?
